Our Story

AYAEO was born from the unknown, from uncertainty, from a lack of a plan.

In late-2016, I left my job in non-profit. I was burnt out. I felt my own light dimming. I remember thinking to myself, where did I go?

To reignite my spirit and feed my soul, I took a three-week solo adventure to India where I learned about the ancient art of block printing. That’s when my love for all things textile came rushing back to me. I’ll never forget the day I took myself shopping, tried on a kaftan and felt like a goddess. I ended up buying three and from that day on, I knew a shift was happening.

When I returned to the States, I lived in my kaftans. I started imagining all of the colors and the types of fabrics I would drape over my body if I could design my own. I knew I wanted to start creating – not only for myself but also for others.

I began speaking my desires out loud, reached out to my community for help and began manifesting what I wanted. The journey wasn’t easy; I was knocked down a number of times along the way, but always picked myself back up and continued on.

What is the greatest lesson that I’ve been gifted during this time? Fully embracing my feminine essence and, thereby, discovering amazing parts of myself that I never knew existed. The result? AYAEO – my passions and values woven together into kaftans fit for a goddess.

So go on and give yourself permission to celebrate all parts of you  - the bold, the beautiful, the messy. The world needs more of us.

Thank you for allowing me to share my creations with you. I hope you love them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
